Fitness First recognized the growing demand for strength and performance training and aimed to evolve its offering at the flagship Richmond location. The Australian brand dedicated a large portion of the facility to a high-performance room, creating a space for members seeking advanced training options and a premium experience that blends commercial gym accessibility with elite performance standards.
PLAE was given creative control to design a space balancing functional training and strength work. The layout features central turf areas for movement and conditioning, with surrounding zones for strength training and versatile programming. The sleek design creates a cohesive, performance-focused environment. The result is a space where everyday members feel like athletes, elevating the entire Fitness First experience.
The Parramatta Eels set out to build the world's largest Rugby League training facility, serving men's, women's, and youth pathway programs. The Sydney-based NRL club needed a high-performance environment that could support large squad training simultaneously, with dedicated spaces for strength work, speed development, tactical preparation, and recovery.
PLAE partnered with the Eels to deliver their Centre of Excellence. The facility features performance flooring, athletic turf for speed and agility work, dedicated wrestling mats, and fully outfitted strength areas with custom-branded equipment. Every detail reinforces team identity while maximizing functionality. Multiple squads can now train together seamlessly, setting a global benchmark for professional rugby facilities.
